This year we had electives from years 4-8. I was interesting to see the other performances, My elective was 'Dance'! I really liked it but when we performed, we were a lot more shy. I really enjoyed Electives and Thanks to Mrs Millward how had made this possible.

Speech 2015

Hey You! The one with the chocolate skin, the one with the thick hair, the one with the amazing culture. It doesn't really matter what kind you are.. We’ll always be the same!

Think about it... What is Racism? Racism is a bad virus that floats around wanting people's attention. Sometimes it catches people and changes them for who they are. It’s pretty sad to hear that people sitting here in this room still do it and I don’t blame them. But that’s not the reason why I’m standing here today. The reason why I’m standing here today is to send out a very important message so you can understand how bad racism is.

Take a look at the people around you...what do you see? Do negative thoughts come through? What is tapping into your head? I wouldn't have a clue what you’re thinking but I've taken the time to have a really good think about it. Have you ever wondered about how others feel about the things your actions? You could say one word, and it could kill a person. Not the mean death or anything but by ruining someone’s last few years of school.

A lot of people in this room don’t realize how much people suffer from the racism that is said to them. Look around you! We’re not all the same. We were made to be like this.. We didn’t chose? So why do you think it’s the right decision to screw someone's life up? That person could already have stuff on their shoulders that they have to put up with! so everyone, Ease off for a bit and really think about your actions.

I’m 100% sure mostly everyone here has experienced this. Doesn't matter if you were doing it or not! It still is a low standard for others to see. Remember, your not the only one that sees what your doing, there's also your neighbors that can see everything as well.

Who’s tired of trying to be someone else just because they come to school everyday, but straight away get mocked? Who’s  been over thinking a lot, who feels like they drive themselves crazy like all the time? Guys! It’s time to forget that and leave it outside the gate.. Release yourself and not anyone else cage you.  Who cares what people think or say? What they think is up to them but one thing you can’t allow them to do is to change who you really are!

Wake up! This is a very important message to know! If you’re not capable of doing that! Well easy... Theres friends and family to back you up. That’s why you gotta never let them see you down, be happy of what you're doing.

So please everyone have respect for others and accept people for who they are.  Let's put this racism and bullying to a stop so that we can have a peaceful and free life. You don’t have to take in what I just said. If you want to change, change, If not, let it be. Just remember... I wasn't just talking to YOU! I was talking to everyone....so people! Make a Change!
